Gunslinger’s journey began around 2007 with the birth of Jacobus Reyneke (Pierre & Ella’s son), at which time Pierre started planning a custom built 6XC calibre rifle with a BAT receiver, Bartlein Barrel and Jewel trigger (which was finally completed and licensed in 2013). In 2012 the world famous / legend David Tubb came to visit South Africa and Pierre, Ella & Jacobus had the opportunity of seeing David Tubb in Action with his TUBB 2000 rifle chambered in 6XC calibre, with his DTR reticle scope, shooting a gong at a 1000 yards. Since 2012, Pierre tried acquiring a Tubb 2000 rifle and 5 years later in 2017 decided to personally order a ATR 2017 (Tubbgun) and imported one in 2018 with 3 rifle barrels (in 6XC, 6.5GAP4S and a .300 Norma Magnum calibre). Once the trigger was pulled, the rifle was so popular that Gunslinger Pty Ltd & Tubbgun Pty Ltd was established in 2018 and another 15 x ATR 2017’s (Tubbgun’s) were ordered with 45 rifle barrels. Gunslinger was approved as a firearms dealer and registered as an importer. This same approach of sourcing the best equipment available internationally, to meet the needs of competitive shooters / hunters demanding the best, today still guides Gunslinger and has led to securing sole distribution in South Africa of amongst others: Superior Shooting Systems / TUBB, Proof Research, TriggerTech, Huskemaw, TrueTimber, Cutting Edge, Flatline, AG Composite, Ingenuity Precision, Whidden, Alpha Munitions, etc.
